Message from the library:
Happy first days of school! The library will be open for book check-outs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting the week of September 2, 2014.
Here are the student library guidelines. Teachers, please share these with your students.
Grant Beacon Library Guidelines
1- No gum, food, or drinks in the library.
2- All students must have a pass.
3- No passes from the library.
4- Keep your voices down.
5- Be respectful of others.
6- Students are only to use the north doors, next to the non-fiction section.
7- Do not enter the library if the doors are closed.
8- If you pull a book from the shelf, please put it back where it belongs. If you are not sure where it goes, place it in the book return.
9- You may check out only two books at a time.
10- Please return books by the due date.
11- If you owe more than $50.00 in library fines, you cannot check out more books.
12- Please keep the library clean!
The most important library guideline is that students must not be in the library without supervision. So teachers, please make sure to keep the library doors locked when the library is closed. (I will post a "library is closed" sign whenever I'm not there.)
Teachers, please feel free to use the library as a study area on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but make sure students don't borrow library books without checking them out. If you absolutely must take out a book for yourself or for a student, you must leave me a note with the name of the person taking the book, the title and author of the book, and the barcode number of the book.
Students, I'm looking forward to meeting each one of you and helping you discover the books you love!
If you are interested in trying out for the following Early Fall Sports, please fill in the google form below.

Although we firmly believe our kids should relax this summer, it is important that they don’t fall behind in their studies skills. Please help us, by expecting you son/daughter to work on math and reading this summer. We are asking them to complete self-guided online math lessons through Tenmarks and also complete Summer Reading. Assignments are due by August 11th.
Thank you for all of your support.
Attention current, former, and future Griffins: GBMS is looking for information to help make sure our future Enrichment classes are as engaging as possible! Enjoy your summer of reading!
8th Grade Students and Parents:
We have adjusted the start time of our continuation to 6:30pm instead of 5:00pm. We made this adjustment because several students are unable to attend as they are attending family members high school graduations.
These students have been working hard all year and it is important that we celebrate their accomplishments as a community. We also know several parents made sacrifices to attend for the evening, therefore, we have adjusted the time to accommodate everyone involved.
We look forward to seeing you at the GBMS Continuation.
