See Mockingjay: Part 1 in Theaters for reading the book.

7th and 8th graders who have read Mockingjay and passed an AR quiz will be going to see the film Mockingjay: Part 1 on Thursday December 18th at the UA theater on the 16th Street Mall. The cost is $9.00 and permission forms and money must be turned in to secure your spot. The first 50 7th and the first 50 8th graders to turn both things in will earn a spot on the trip. See Ms. Danielson, Ms. Lewis, or Ms. Nadia for more information, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Boys Basketball TRYOUTS!

Attention all boys who want to try out for the winter basketball team:

Tryout this year will be held on Monday (November 17th) and Wednesday (November 18th).  You must have a physical/emergency contact/permission to play form on file with the school to try out. You can pick up one of these forms in the main office.Read the rest of this topic(137 words)...

Girls Basketball Tryouts- 7th and 8th grade

7th and 8th Grade Girls interested in playing basketball need to sign up using THIS LINK
The Girls Basketball Tryout will take place on Wednesday, 11/19, during enrichments (7th period).  Please make sure to check in with your enrichment provider before heading to the gym.  Make sure to come prepared with appropriate clothing, shorts, shirt and shoes.  In order to participate in athletics you need to make sure to have an up to date physical and parent permission form turned in.  Contact Mr. Paavola with any questions.

Mathletics Cluster #1 Competition at Slavens on 11/6/2014

Mathletics Team students

Grant's Mathletics team participated in their first competition of the season yesterday at Slavens. The teams are led by May Nguyen and 'Enakai Robles, and coached by Ms. ZZ and Mr. Girard. 

Rosa Dang placed 3rd out of all of the 6th graders at the competition and Kevin Tran earned first place out of all GBMS students.

GBMS is really proud of all of your hard work!! Good luck with your next competition on December 4th.
